The Aid & Attendance Program
The Aid and Attendance (A&A) Special Pension is a benfit that may be available for veterans and/or surviving spouses, who are at least 65 years old, to assist with the cost of long term care. It is a non-service connected disability benefit, meaning the disability does not have to be a result of service. In order to qualify, one must meet the Service, Disability, Income, and Asset requirements as defined by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.

| Veteran with spouse/dependent | `$1,949 |
| Single veteran | $1,644 |
| Surviving spouse | $1,056 |
